Captain Zodiac
Exploring the Big Island's Kona Coast by 16 passenger inflatable boats is an experience of a lifetime! For over 30 years our Captains have escorted visitors to nature's secret wonders in Hawaii, as only a Zodiac boat can make possible. Small groups joining our expedition allow for a personal and intimate tour.
Dolphins, whale songs and sounds of the sea provide a natural background to our naturalist Captain's Hawaiian folklore and history. Possible sightings of manta rays, turtles and other marine life add to the adventure as you bounce through the waves on this exhilarating and fun expedition. The quick moving and agile Zodiac rafts provide excitement that has made them recognized worldwide as the best way to explore the marine environment.
During the excursion we will explore lava tubes, sea caves, and sea grottos and observe wave powered blowholes. You will see how the island was formed as the captains share their knowledge on the many different lava formations. Our destination is Kealakekua Bay, which is a National marine Park and also is the site of the Captain Cook monument. This area is one of Hawaii's premier snorkel spots with incredible visibility and calm conditions. All snorkel gear including Prescription masks, float boards and detailed instruction are provided. Kealakekua Bay is full of Hawaiian history and the events will be recounted by the crew wile you enjoy the fresh fruits, snack foods, cookies and assortment of refreshing beverages (soda, juices and waters), which are all provided. Remember the Kona Coast has the calmest water and the Zodiac is the least likely boat to cause seasickness.
